Church World Service Kits

May 19 - June 30, the PW-Ruth Circle will invite you to support the Church World Service kit ministry program with a monetary donation.  Our goal this year is  to collect $1,020 to send to CWS so they can purchase supplies for school and hygiene kits.  They estimate the supplies and forward shipping for each kit to cost $17.  If you want to go over and beyond, you could donate to purchase clean-up buckets which cost $78 each.

From the CWS website:  This program provides much needed supplies to people in their times of crisis.  It provides cleanup supplies to homes damaged by flood waters.  It provides hygiene products and school supplies to those displaced by natural disasters.  Through this special offering to the Church World Service kit ministry program, they will be able to provide many of the tangible items that are necessary for the physical needs of our sisters and brothers in crisis.  But even more importantly, those tangible items provide a spiritual hope.  And perhaps that is the most compelling definition of faithful stewardship – sharing hope with others.

If you donate by check, please make it payable to the Presbyterian Women with “CWS kits” on the memo line.  Envelopes will be available at the church for cash donations.  You may give your donation to Karen Finch, Cindy Erb, or place it in the offering plate.  Thank you.
